Each original canvas print is gallery-wrapped giclée print - also known as archival pigment ink (spray) process - with edges finished in image overflow. In other words, part of the photograph can be seen on the edge of the canvas. We feel it makes a more interesting and complete visual experience. Each acid-free, archival ink print comes with a certification of authenticity.
Our History
Our art is unique in that it is historical, one-of-a-kind, original work produced by four artists with very different photographic styles and interests. Some of the photos were obtained by risking life and limb, some taken in places that can never be revisited. Many historical photos were taken before buildings were brought down to the ground, annihilating the stories of the people who spent their days in mental hospitals or tuberculosis infirmaries - apart from society. Mental health care has changed greatly and housing great numbers of mentally ill is not longer form of treatment. The stories of these folks cause us to search our souls to ask what more we could have done. Do we tear the buildings down to rid ourselves of the guilt of what some of these people endured? We hope each photo speaks to the viewer to tell a story - a story of hope, exhilaration, thoughtfulness and depth.
